Here's some common questions about FloBass Fishing Charters
What is provided on a charter? Captain Eric will provide all fishing rods, tackle, and gear necessary for the days fishing. Live bait is available at an additional charge. A cooler with ice, and bottled water will also be provided for all anglers on board. Emergency medical and rain gear is also available.
What should I bring? Polarized sunglasses, sun protective clothing, hat, sunscreen, and rain gear. A cooler full of ice will be available for any additional snacks or beverages you'd like to bring. Adult beverages are allowed.
Do you offer fly fishing trips? YES! Fly fishing is Capt. Eric's secret pleasure. Any trip offered by Capt. Eric can be fished on fly and he has all fly gear available for your use. But this isn't like fishing for a 12" rainbow trout... Be prepared for lots of casting, stripping and NO TROUT SETTING! You will be worn out at the end of a fly trip, and that's a good thing!
Why do I have to pay a deposit? A deposit reserves the date you wish to go fishing with Capt. Eric. This ensures that no one else can book your preferred date/time for the trip. A deposit also helps encourage anglers who are serious about chartering Capt. Eric's services and discourage tire kickers or clients that are a no-show risk.
How many fish will we catch? It's called fishing for a reason, and not catching. No bites are guaranteed, however, Captain Eric puts 110% effort into every trip to ensure his anglers are put into the best possible scenario to catch as many fish as possible given the conditions. On most trips we boat anywhere from 15 - 50 fish.
Do I need to be a master angler? Absolutely not! Capt. Eric can accommodate anglers of any skill level.
What happens if it rains? Rain alone does not necessarily cancel a trip. After all, the fish are already wet! More often than not the fish bite just as well when its raining as they do when its sunny. If a sudden shower pops up, there is emergency rain gear on board to help keep you dry. In the event of lightning, the trip will be postponed and if rescheduling cannot be accommodated, a refund of the deposit will be made, or applied to another date if chosen.
What about alligators? In Southeast Florida you should expect to find an alligator in any body of water you come across. With that said, you're chances of running into a gator on a guided trip with Capt. Eric are pretty high, however, you have nothing to worry about. Most gators want nothing to do with humans and boats. More often than not, gator interactions are fairly anticlimactical. If one does come close, it just wants the fish on the end of your line, not you. You will in no way be put into a situation where an alligator may cause harm to anyone on board Capt. Eric's vessel.
What if I have to cancel the trip? You can find Captain Eric's cancellation policy here.
